Diploma in Business Management (Mandarin)
Course Introduction
The Diploma in Business Management
provides an introductory business management course
linked to Singapore`s regulatory and professional body
requirements where appropriate, with a clear
work-related emphasis based upon an Asian perspective.
This qualification is particularly suitable for mature
learners and working adults who wish to develop a
fundamental understanding of business management that
is directly related to the learner’s work experience
or to an aspect of employment that learners wish to
move into in due course. There is a strong emphasis on
practical skills development alongside the development
of requisite knowledge and understanding in the micro
business environment from an Asian perspective
The Diploma in Business Management (Mandarin)
has an identical course content as The Diploma in
Business Management qualification, but offered in
Mandarin medium of instruction. It is tailored to
serve the needs of learners whose working environment
has a critical need for communication in the Mandarin
language with key overseas stakeholders and clients.
Course Duration and Delivery
Total training hours: 96 hours of either face to face
classroom or e-learning basis with a combination of
directed and self-directed learning
This course is only offered on a part-time basis.

6 months (part-time) with one session per week of 4 hours each. All learners have a maximum allowable period of 12 months to complete the course from date of course commencement.

The programme is made up of 4 mandatory modules with 10 credits per module and a total of 4 written assignments and/or presentations

There are approximately 24 directed learning hours per module.

Directed learning includes tutor-led discussions, live seminars, interactive exercises, and multimedia content such as videos and lecturecasts.

All modules require the learners to complete the 4 written assignments and/or presentations which will form the basis of the learner`s overall assessment.
Course Modules
1. Principles of Accounting (10 credits):
This module aims to develop learners’ basic
understanding of both financial and management
accounting principles. Learners will be taught
technical skills of financial accounting such as the
capture of financial information which are used and
reported in financial statements. In this module,
learners will understand the implications of financial
accounting, including profit returns and cash flows on
decision making within companies.
2. Principles of Management (10 credits):
This module introduces the learner to studying how
companies establish structures, processes, and teams
to efficiently and effectively utilise resources to
achieve goals. This is crucial in today's environment
marked by increasing competition, globalisation, and
demographic and cultural shifts. As future supervisors
and managers, learners must be able to plan, organise,
lead and control processes within their companies. The
learners will be exposed to managers' decision-making
processes whose role is crucial to lead and motivate
teams to accomplish company-wide objectives.
3. Principles of Marketing (10 credits):
This module aims to develop learners’ understanding of
marketing as an essential business function that
entails identifying and targeting the appropriate
customer segments, devising effective marketing
strategies, and establishing a cohesive brand image..
Learners will be exposed to concepts such as market
segmentation, target audience selection,
differentiation and positioning strategies. The module
will also cover the marketing mix, known as the 4Ps
(product, price, place and promotion), providing
learners with a holistic understanding of planning a
marketing strategy
4. Principles of Human Resource Management (10
credits):
This module develops learners’ ability to appreciate
the frameworks and concepts underpinning the
contribution of human resource management in a
constantly changing environment. Learners will take a
strategic approach to examine human capital-related
practices using both the employer’s and the employee’s
perspectives within an organisation. The key areas to
be discussed include environmental challenges and
strategic human resource management, talent
acquisition, talent development, talent retention, and
Asian workforce deployment. As environmental
challenges are constant, this module will address the
alignment of key human resource management issues with
corporate missions, visions, and values in the context
of the changing environment.
Course Assessment
The assessment will be entirely based on course work
assignment which may include presentations made by the
learner in addition to any written assignments. Learners
must pass all four modules to be awarded this
qualification by Kaider Academy
Course Entry Requirements
The learner must be at least 16 years old and
either:

Minimum 3 Passes at GCE ‘O’ Level or Completion of Secondary or High School or Equivalent, or
-
For mature candidates, at least 21 years old with 3 years of working experience.
Course Language Proficiency
In respect of The Diploma in Business Management:
Minimum Pass for GCE O Level English or
equivalent.
In respect of The Diploma in Business Management
(Mandarin):
Minimum Pass for GCE O Level Chinese or
equivalent.
